The horse of the Maghreb
الحصان البربري
Barb
Native to the Maghreb and present in North Africa for 3,500 years, the Barb was the companion of nomads and of the horse breeders of the Atlas and the High Plateaus. Throughout history it has been used to improve many other breeds. An outstanding saddle and endurance horse with energetic gaits, it is at ease on hard, rough ground.
