El Adiyat Stud is proud to count among its partners the Moroccan Association of the Barb and Arab-Barb Horse (AMCBAB). Founded in Benslimane, the province where our stud is located, it works to safeguard these two emblematic breeds.

An association of breeders

The association was founded on 17 January 2015 in Benslimane, under the name ANECB, by a group of breeders passionate about the Barb horse. Today it has more than 250 breeders, all of whom commit to owning at least one Barb mare.

Three missions

  • safeguarding and improving the breed: judging frameworks, stallion selection programmes and access to quality breeding stock;
  • promoting the Barb and the Arab-Barb in Morocco and abroad;
  • supporting breeders: representing them before institutions, awarding grants and bonuses, and running training in nutrition, farriery and equine health.

A calendar of competitions

In partnership with SOREC, AMCBAB runs a national calendar of events each year that showcases the abilities of both breeds:

  • regional equestrian rallies and a national final;
  • TREC, competitive trail riding;
  • handiness, in hand and ridden;
  • working equitation;
  • loose jumping;
  • introductory endurance days.

It also organises regional and inter-regional Arab-Barb shows, a national meeting with the Barb and Arab-Barb finals, and conformation assessments of Barb mares.

Training and passing on knowledge

More than 20 technical training sessions are offered to breeders each year. The annual National Barb Day celebrates the breed and its heritage, and workshops cover health, farriery, reproduction and genetics.
